Sterling silver
Every piece in this collection is sterling silver (925), made by Kavacha Designs | Sacred Armor™. Kavacha means armor in Sanskrit. Each Kavacha is a prayer amulet with a private chamber inside. Each necklace is a silver locket necklace in the amulet tradition: it opens like a locket to an inner chamber and closes with a twist-lock. The precisely fitted male and female parts align and twist together, and a silicone seal makes the fit snug. The VRAT ring amulet opens to a private chamber too, under a small hinged cap. The chamber can hold a written prayer, a lock of hair, a small amount of ashes or another small keepsake.
The designs come from specific amulet traditions: the tawiz belt worn by Muslim women in Kerala (South India) in the early 20th century, the Bedouin hirz (a silver amulet vessel), the traditional taweez necklace, the wedding silver of Northern Yemen and a 1970s brass pendant from San Francisco. Every piece is cast from a single 3D print. Where a design has stones, its listing names them, from the technical spec sheet: white or green cubic zirconia, or lab-grown diamonds.
Sterling silver necklaces are ready to ship within 2 business days. Most designs are also made to order in 14K or 18K yellow gold, listed separately, and take 4 to 6 weeks. Each piece is designed by Jayashri Triolo, who founded Kavacha in 2018, and carries the Kavacha hallmark and a branded K tag. Weights and dimensions are nominal and vary slightly from piece to piece. Water resistance has not been tested, so keep the piece and anything inside it completely dry. Contact Kavacha for guidance before filling it.
